It's political!

PLEASE PRAY!! There are some developing things happening in Guatemala regarding adoptions. Please pray for the Guatemalan Government and the President of Guatemala that their hearts turn in favor of adoptions. To be better informed go to www.quatadopt.com and read entries from September 22, 24, 27 and 28.

Update: Just to give you a "picture" of what is happening. UNICEF has offered a 28 Million Dollar donation to the Guatemalan President. The Guatemalan President may take that offer if he agrees to stop adoptions from happening internationally. Sources say that this could happen as early as October 1, 2006 and others say that it could take place January 1, 2007. (Reading the comments after reading the entries gives some insight to this issue as well) PLEASE PRAY!!

I will pray Lori! I don't understand those entries at that website very well, but God does.

Thank you Maxine for your prayers and comments. To answer your question on the previous post, no - I didn't write the poem and the source that I got it from, didn't list an author. Please see my update on the blog entry to explain the urgency in prayer.

I read most of the comments on the site you linked to. I don't fully understand (it sounds like most don't) but know that I will be praying! What I really don't get is why UNICEF and the president of Guat. are so against international adoption.

Margaret - Thank you! UNICEF's primary goal is to aid countries and help them establish a safe and healthy environment for their people to live. They are not in favor of international adoptions, because their goal is to keep people in their country and help them there. That's not a bad thing, but they have offered a donation to the Division of Social welfare and the Director or president happens to also be the Guatemalan President's wife and they may take it if they agree to stop international adoptions from happening. (28 Million can sure help a president in his last term of office!)
