Remember Emily!

A HUGE THANK YOU to those that have committed to praying for my niece, Emily. Yesterday she had another MRI in prep for surgery and to double check things over. The doctor woke up at 3 am thinking about the surgery and decided that he needed to handle it differently, that going in behind the ear wasn't going to be right. He decided that he needed to do the procedure by going in from the top of her head. They will need to split the brain in order to remove the tumor. It is entangled worse then what they originally thought. He has a 14 year old daughter of his own and promised that he would take care of Emily as if she were his. The surgery now will possibly take up to ten hours to complete. They are talking the possibility of two surgeries. She may experience a stroke and have water on the brain. They are talking the possibility of her having to relearn some things and that she will have short term memory loss. The retina specialist could not say how the outcome of her eye would be. He didn't know if vision would return or not. The surgery is on Monday. Emily entered public school this past fall. Prior to this fall, she was at home being home schooled. She was worried about her finals that were due last week and wondering how she was going to make up all the time that she has and will loose from this surgery. Her principal called today to tell her that she was completely excused from her finals and they have given her an A based on what she has done so far. Thank you for praying. Please pray for God's will to be done on Monday. Pray for the family and all who are involved. Pray for her recovery and her healing process. If my sister is wishing for my help during Emily's recovery time, pray for God to orchestrate an airline ticket to get me there. My heart breaks every time I think of my sweet Emily (she is my card making buddy) and all that she is facing right now. I want to be there, to hold her, but can't pull money from thin air to get there. Emily says, "Good things are happening despite the recent news. My brother doesn't really say that he loves me, but he is showing that he loves me in all that he has done for me lately." Emily has two older brothers and one younger sister. Along with my sister and her family, we believe that God is bigger then all of this. We ask that God prepare our hearts for His will. Thank you for praying and thinking of my sister and her family.

Lori,

I am praying so hard for this precious young lady. I will be saying special prayers on Monday. I have some miles with American Airlines that I would love to donate to you. It won't be enough for a round trip but maybe a one way. E-mail me and let me know if you are interested.

What a lot for such a young one to have to deal with. She will be in our prayers and we will make sure to take some time out on Monday to pray for her, her family and the doctors.

Hey Lori,
I have a friend who is considering adoption and is looking for someone to talk to with advice on where and how to start, both logistically and emotionally. Would you be willing to chat with her? If so, could you send me your email address?
Thanks,
Audra
