We arrived at the court house at 8:30 this morning. Way too early!! We signed in and entered the court room when the bailiff called us in and then sat and waited for our turn. Yikes - to keep two small children quiet in a quiet court room - yikes!! They did really well though!! Nicolai played his Gameboy and Sonja had her breakfast. They surprised me and did really well!! We only had to shush Sonja once and so we handed her candy and she did fine! Candy for breakfast on her special day when she needs to sit quietly in a very quiet court room - No Problem!!
We went through probably eight or ten cases and then the Judge called us for an Adoption hearing. We stood up and while we were making our way to the tables, the Judge asked everyone else to leave except for family and friends of ours.
Joel answered all of his questions and then he announced that Sonja was adopted into our family and that her name has been changed to Sonja Dinora. Then we asked the Judge if we could get a picture with him and he was more then happy to do so.
Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeehaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!! Our adoptions are complete!! Praise God for carrying us through them! Thanks to family and friends who joined us today and for praying!
