Thank you and continue to pray!

Sarah and Emily (Emily is on the right) Aren't they cute?!! I miss them!!

Emily was seen by the neurosurgeon today and he agreed with the previous doctors that she needed to have the surgery right away. The tumor is entangled and therefore is not the typical procedure that needs to happen in order to remove it. There is a higher urgency for this surgery. She will be going in Monday morning to Augusta, GA (20 min. from their home). They are telling her that she can expect to be in ICU for 2 to 3 days, spend two weeks in the hospital and then have a 6 - 8 week recovery time. The doctor was upbeat about the procedure. The tumor has affected a growth gland and has possibly affected her ability to grow at the rate she should be. For you doctors out there: the doctor is going in over her ear instead of through the nose! Thank you for your prayers for Emily. Please continue to pray for the surgery, that there is no permanent optic nerve damage, that she stabilizes right after the surgery, for the doctors, hospital staff, Emily, her parents and family, her father as he tries to pastor his church during a busy season and for their congregation to step up to the plate and be there for them.

Awful that such a young girl should have to be so brave and deal with this! I will definitely keep her in my thoughts.
